Difference between Level 1 and Level 2 data Print

Exchanges (including Xetra, OMX, EuroNext, London SE among many others) provides different data to end-users at different cost.

For realtime data the exchanges normally differs between the fees payable for viewing realtime data for 1) Private investors vs professional investors, and 2) Access to Level 1 or Level 2 data.

Level 1 data includes ONLY the best bid/ask, while Level 2 data includes 5 levels or more accumulated for each price level. For some exchanges Level 2 data can include up to 10 levels accumulated.
